The Allyship @ Kong x Coding Black Females Fellowship is an innovative program that provides advanced training for software engineers by combining cutting edge technical skills, immersing mentorship and helping Black women navigate through technical courses.

About the Fellowship

Kong powers trillions of API transactions for leading organizations globally through our end-to-end API platform. They are partnering with Coding Black Females to create a Fellowship Programme.

The Kong x Coding Black Females Fellowship is a 6 week programme where you will receive a training course, a mentor, have access to their VP for leadership insights and resume building. This fellowship will provide 10 Black women (5 in UK, 5 in US) with mentorship, training and resume support.

The programme begins on 1st December, with the following sessions:

  • 1st December 2020: Welcome day, start your online course, meet your mentor and meet the other fellows
  • 15th December 2020: Meet the VP! How to network, work with leadership and find mentors
  • 5th January 2020: Resume Building - the Talent Acquisition team will advise on best practices, resume building and standing out on LinkedIn
  • 19th January 2020: D-Day - Show us what you've been working on and your new skills
All sessions will last an hour starting at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT. From 1st December, you will be presented with your technical course and a mentor to guide you on your journey.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the fellowship, you must

  • Identify as a woman or gender minority
  • Be from a Black ethnicity background
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Currently looking to or working in the field of digital or use technology in your daily role

Frequently Asked Questions

Coding Black Females will assess all applications and choose successful applicants. There will be 5 people selected from the UK and 5 people selected from the USA based on eligibility, need and your availability.
You will be provided with the following:
  • A mentor
  • A training course
  • 4 sessions at Kong covering: meeting the fellows, resume building, technical leadership, demo day
  • Private Slack channel for all fellows
You must be available to attend all fellowship sessions
The deadline for applications is 20th November 2020 at midnight.
Successful applicants will be notified by email, On or before 23rd November 2020 ready for the first session on 1st December
